Committee & Staff

Pavilion Pirates Pre-school is a registered charity run by a management committee of volunteers. We are a non-profit making charity which means that all funds generated from the many fundraising activities we do are invested back into your child’s pre-school.

You can join the committee if you have an interest in the pre-school – such as a parent, guardian or grandparent of a child attending.

The management committee is voted in each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and must have at least five members, with three of those members taking the officer roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. You are entitled to attend and vote at the AGM if you have a child at the pre-school.

The committee has a constitution, which is a set of rules we follow. We are members of the Pre-school Learning Alliance who provide guidance.

All members of the management committee have to undergo a police check and provide all the necessary details to obtain an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate. Ofsted will also assess if you are a suitable person to form part of the registered person for the pre-school. We have trustee indemnity insurance in place so committee members have no financial liability. You will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and declare any conflicts of interest when you join the management committee.

Parent review from July 2019

"My daughter has learned so many skills and been nurtured by each and everyone of the staff.  I will definitely returning with my younger daughter soon"

Parent review from July 2019

"A wonderful preschool in the community with lovely, committed staff.  My little one loved going and was always full of chat at the end of each session, bursting to tell me about his day.  Keep up the good work."

Parent review from August 2018

"We could not have wished for a better preschool for our children and would recommend it to everyone.  The staff are all so kind and genuinely seem to love their job and the children.  The play opportunities are so fun yet the children are all so calm and well-behaved.  Pirates, you're fantastic, we can't thank you enough and we will miss you."
